On Saturday September 1st, 2007, the Tennessee Film Premier of RWANDA RISING took place in Chattanooga on the campus of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Benwood Auditorium.
Opening remarks were made by Mr. Clif Cleaveland who was the moderator for the event, followed by welcome remarks from Chattanooga Mayor Ron Littlefield and UTC Chancelor Dr. Roger Brown.
The Honorable Andrew Young prepared the audience by introducing the film they were about to see . Also present were film director CB Hackworth. The documentary film Rwanda Rising lasted 1 hour and 20 minutes, which was followed by a Q&A session with panelists Ambassador Andrew Young and the Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda, His Excellency Eng. James Kimonyo. Question were paused by the moderator.
The event was very well attended as the Benwood auditorium was filled with standing room only available to the late arrivers. The event was open to the public with a suggested minimum donation of $15 ($5 for students).

Board member and Chattanooga Businessman Yozefu Rugina concluded the event by issueing thank you remarks to the program organizers, the distinguished panelist, student and faculty of UTC,attendees and the event sponsors. A reception followed.
